W5 Summer Boot Camp Day 10 Recap
Well everyone, today was the last day of the Summer Camp. Definitely a day mixed with happiness and sadness. The fighters, trainers and organizers gave everything they had for 10 days and today was the day to celebrate the end of an intense 10 days of training. The day opened up with some swimming for an hour and then moved on to a fun game of paintball. A great team building exercise to close out the camp. In the evening everyone gathered to celebrate with a BBQ and some awards. We will be posting the awards and their winner later on, once we get the list but the main award, which guaranteed one fighters a spot at a W5 tournament in 2018, was awarded to Markus Ehrenhofer. So big congratulations goes out to him, he just had that extra something during sparring which got him the award. According to Sergey Chepinoga, W5 President, “Every fighter that came could have won this award. I was very impressed with how much everyone put into the camp to learn and compete. It is exactly what I was hoping for. However, Markus just had something with the way he held himself in the ring and was extremely technically sound that we felt he deserved to get this award.” He goes on to say, “I would like to thank all the fighters who came out. They were all amazing and professional and they helped make W5’s boot camp a major success. I wish all of them the best in their professional careers and hope to see them all in 2018’s boot camp.”
This brings a close to W5’s first ever summer boot camp. The emotions and energy was un-describable. There is definitely a feeling that it went by too quickly but if truth be told, 10 days was the perfect amount of days for everyone for such an intense training camp.
